Last updated: 1 January 2024
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website and educational services provided by Philosophia School (ABN 91 382 615 479), located at Suite 12, Level 4, 26 Flinders Street, Adelaide, SA 5000, Australia. By accessing our website or enrolling in our courses, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Philosophia School is an independently operated educational institution offering non-accredited philosophy courses for adult learners. We are not a registered training organisation and do not confer formal academic qualifications. Certificates of completion are issued for internal recognition only.
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment or an agreed payment plan arrangement. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We reserve the right to limit enrolment numbers to maintain seminar quality. Course access, including recordings and materials, is provided for the duration specified at the time of enrolment.
All course fees are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Payment is due at the time of enrolment unless a payment plan has been arranged. We accept bank transfer and major payment methods. Prices are subject to change, but any changes will not affect confirmed enrolments.
Full refunds are available for cancellations made at least 14 days before the course start date. A 50% refund applies for cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before commencement. No automatic refund is available after the course has commenced, though we will consider requests on a case-by-case basis. Transfers between courses are accommodated where possible at no additional charge, subject to availability.
All course materials, including lecture notes, slides, reading guides, and recordings, are the intellectual property of Philosophia School and the respective lecturers. Students may use these materials for personal study only. Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of course materials without written permission is prohibited.
We expect all students to engage respectfully and constructively in seminars and discussions. Philosophia School reserves the right to remove any student whose conduct disrupts the learning environment or violates the principles of respectful intellectual exchange. In such cases, a proportional refund may be offered at our discretion.
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to use the website in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its operation, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its associated systems.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Philosophia School is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or website. Our total liability for any claim related to our services shall not exceed the fees paid by you for the relevant course.
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
We may amend these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
